France in a campervan
Last week I went to France in a campervan on a walking, driving, sightseeing, and yet more driving trip...
Travelling around central and northern France in a campervan was fantastic. I didn't get as much drawing as I would have liked but I saw fantastic houses, churches and countryside which was really inspiring. Everywhere there are amazing old houses that have been deserted and are being taken over by overgrowth...
We went to this memorial village, Oradour-sur-Glane, that has purposefully been left exactly as it was since it was pillaged and set fire to by the Nazis on the 10 June, 1944. It is like stepping into a time warp, fascinating and deeply moving. There are sewing machines, ornate metal beds, cars and tools left in situ.
